    Helmut Bruger

Helmut Bruger, born in West Berlin in 1967, began playing the piano at the age of five. From an early age he was passionate about the music of Herbie Hancock, Miles Davis and Oscar Peterson, but also for R & B, blues, soul and funk, such as the music of Stevie Wonder. In 1988 Helmut went to Boston to study at the Berklee College of Music. There he met musicians like Roy Hargrove, Matt Garrison, Kurt Rosenwinkel and Lalah Hathaway. Since he went back to Berlin in 1992, he plays with various bands at home and abroad. With his own jazz trio he thrills the audience with his own compositions and his bluesy funky jazz piano.
