Rudy Stevenson is one of the “soul men” in America’s 1960’s, who enriched the world with his compositions. His ‘Dontcha hear me callin’ to ya’ is found on the bestseller ‘Aquarius’ of the group The Fifth Dimension, with Nina Simone Rudy worked for years and his ‘Coming Home’ is to hear in movies time and again. The Berlin singer Martina Gebhardt knows and appreciates Rudy since 1988. She learned a lot from performing with him, and wanted to record parts of his work in any case. This opportunity offered itself in cooperation with the Berlin guitarist Peter Kuhz. The duo Gebhardt/Kuhz presents some of its favorite pieces of Rudy Stevenson to you in a vivid and interactive way, in combination with modern and melodic original compositions, and in addition with some standards of the special class. A lot of bossa, blues and modern soul with a live character – originally, spontaneously, improvised.
